Workshop on Self Management
A workshop on Self Management was conducted by Ms. Sonia from 'The Changes'. The workshop aimed to enlighten the teachers about the ways of managing the activities according to time and setting up SMART goals by using 3Ps - Plan, Prioritize and Prepare. The resource person used different interactive activities to make us understand the need of self management.
Workshop on Challenges of Teaching in a Multi-Ability Context
A workshop on identifying gifted students and enrichment was conducted for the teachers of classes III-VIII by one of the renowned professors of CIE, Dr. Vandana Saxena. The professor highlighted the following issues: Catering to the needs of gifted children-Identification, Proposing the planning of curriculum of the gifted children, Role of counsellor in handling a gifted student and role of the school management for the same. The workshop concluded on a very interactive note, wherein the teachers discussed the various students (gifted) they have come across and dealt with.
Workshop on School Cinema
A workshop on 'School Cinema' was organised for the teachers of classes Nur-VIII by the resource person, Mr. Ankit Vaish from School Cinema. He briefed the teachers about the use of 'School Cinema teachers' Manual. A movie " Aaiyya Paaji' was shown to the teachers and discussion on the same was followed. The session made the teachers introspect and understand the reason for showing short movies under the head of school cinema to the students.
Story Telling Workshop
A Story Telling Workshop was conducted for teachers of classes Nur-II. The resource person Ms. Sunita Sachdeva explained the importance of story telling to young children. She also described the different kinds of props that can be used while telling a story. She made the teachers do a rhyme activity wherein they had to make a rhyme on the spot with the help of six rhyming words.
A Theatre Workshop was conducted for teachers of classes Nur-II by the resource person Ms. Sunita Sachdeva. The session started with the introduction of theatre-an action based activity which is full of expression, movement and creativity. Unlike drama, it is more of a life skill needed for day to day classroom teaching. For primary level training, theatre is beneficial in order to unleash the hidden possibilities and expression from introvert students.
Annual Conference of FPS at India International Centre
The School Principal, Ms Anupama Chopra along with the 4 Goenkan teachers (Ms. Neha Sharma, Ms. Priyanka Joshi, Ms. Tanu Mahajan, Ms. Davneet Kaur) attended Annual Conference of FPS and workshop on Sustainability: Green to Gray Matter at India International Centre, Max Mueller Road, New Delhi. Sh. Ravi Shankar Prasad ji, Hon'ble Minister for Law and Justice & Information Technology, Govt. of India graced the occasion as a Chief Guest. Eminent speakers spoke on various subjects like Collaborate to create speakers, Techno Art-Integrate to Empower etc.
CBSE Worksop on inclusion and Inclusive Strategy
Goenkan teachers, Ms. Geetika Vij and Ms. Namrata Sharma attended CBSE Worksop on inclusion and Inclusive Strategy held at Remal Public School, Rohini wherein teachers learnt various strategies to tackle different problems and how to cater individual needs. The workshop highlighted on how to become an Inclusive Teacher along with making them aware of the differently abled learners in the society. They also learnt the ways to include special students in normal classroom to motivate the learner.
